Hiking a Volcano

What's good in the hood?!

We had a lit week here in Solola- yesterday we were able to hike a volcano!!! Lake Atitlan (Waters of Mormon, right below our area) is so beautiful and has 3 volcanos right around it! We hiked San Pedro La Laguna which was the most ridiculous hike I've ever done. By the end of the day (with working in our area too) we had walked 20 kilometers, and climbed an elevation of 5,600 feet! Haha the entire zone's having a hard time walking today.

Our house is kinda small- about the same size as my area before, just divided into rooms. The best part is that we don't have keys to it!!! We had to do what everyone here does, and tie a 'pita,' or a little string tied to the inside. (there's no door handles here) We stick that through the window and pull it to open the door. Just pray that no random person from the streets notices it... haha
This week was kind of rough for the zone... Three of our areas didn't have an investigator come to church. We had 4, one of the hermanas had 4, then another companionship had 2. (Elder Asay, Jacob Newell's cousin!) But our goal is 15 by the end of the month!! One of the things I loved from the conference, is that we can choose when to change. and that day to change is today!! We did our zone training on that, and breaking down our own personal barriers that keep us from having success. We're gonna make Solola the best zone in the Central Mission!

We should have a baptism this week- he's an ex gang member who's name is Javier Ferique (his real name's David Moises. But he doesn't tell anyone cuz if the gang realizes where he is, they'll come and kill him...) Also, we were able to find a full grown marijuana plant that he had growing at his house, so that was fun.

But I want to testify to all of you that Russel M Nelson is a prophet of God. I could feel the power of the spirit testifying of that truth as we sustained him during the general conference. He has been prepared to be the prophet now in this dispensation, and Christ really does guide him and this church. This church is true, there is no way it couldn't be. I love my Savior, and testify that he loves each one of us in return!

I love all of you so much, thank you so much for the emails. They mean the world!!!

Ma'tiosh sha'wah, ch'wok chik na'na-
