New Casa
Hola!
So this has been a crazy week! We almost got robbed! Haha we were in front of Rodolfo's house and a drunk guy walked up to us. "Hey, Give me your money. I see your wallet. Give me your money." Without saying a word to the guy we opened Rodolfo's gate and walked in. When I turned around to close the gate the guy was pointing at us and said "Ah man. Well, I will get you next time!" Then he walked off without a problem. ๐
We finally moved!! The apartment across the street had a for rent sign. Business deals are so much easier in Guatemala. We called the guy and said we were interested and made an appointment with our zone leaders this morning. They were late and the owner had to leave, but we told him we wanted it so he gave us the keys and said we could move in whenever we wanted! We called in our district to help us, and Stuardo Dardon- a convert of about 6 months, who is an absolute stud. He told us he couldn't believe we'd been living in our old house for as long as we had. But we moved everything over in about an hour, then ordered Dominos to celebrate. This house feels amazing compared to our old one. It has tile floors, not concrete. We have a massive study room, bedroom, changing room, and a big kitchen/ main area, with a sink inside! It feels amazing!
It has been really cool to see how different each investigator is. We have had some amazing experiences and it is so great to see how the Lord works in each of their lives. This Sunday we were able to baptize Linda Alparo. She is 19 and teaches preschool at a Montessori School. She has some of the strangest and deepest questions I have ever heard. She has been such an up and down roller coaster since my first day here, but it was such a wonderful day to see her baptized. We found out (in the font) that she has a HUGE fear of water and that without her glasses she is almost completely blind. It took about 5 minutes to get from the stairs to the floor of the font, and another 5 to convince her she still wanted to do it. When I brought her down under the water she kicked her entire leg out, then had a panic attack , but with the help of her friend Gabi she was able to calm down and we could go through with her baptism. She was so happy!
This missionary work isn't just for us. Every member is a missionary- and doesn't matter if you're in Utah or anywhere around the world, there is always work to do. And this is a work of miracles. God wants this to happen- it is His work and glory. If you have faith and are looking, I promise the miracles will come!!!
Love you all, Elder Tadje
