New Area

Ayoooo,

How's life back in the 801? Ok first of all I wanna clear up some confusion about what exactly we're doing- opening an area can mean a lot of different things. Usually it's what they also call a white wash, where the 2 missionaries who are in the area are pulled out and 2 new ones are put in, with only the carpeta (or area book) to rely on to find your way around. That's what happened to us, but the missionaries were pulled out a year ago. This area (barrio/ward) just hasn't had missionaries assigned to it. We have an awesome chapel, and the ward members are just as amazing!  Because of the special Guatemala broadcast we didn't have church in our building, but we were finally able to get to know them! They are all super excited to finally have missionaries here again, and we want to start working with them a lot. There are miracles with the members!

Jeremy Castro Garcia didn't end up getting baptized on Sunday... He wanted to do it in the stake center where they have warm water in the font so we're waiting until next Saturday...Haha! He is the funniest kid I have ever met- he gets these crazy ideas in his head and will never let them go. We were in the middle of teaching about repentance and what you have to do to go through the repentance process, when he sprints out of the room and comes back in with 2 glasses of aloe. I thought that's what you put on sun burns, but apparently you drink it too! It's really strange, this gummy liquid with a bunch of gel orb things floating inside. But Jeremy decided he wanted us to try it and didn't want to wait! Then he started pulling out some of the deepest doctrinal questions I have ever heard from ANYONE, let alone a 9 year old!  But he's super "calidid", and going to be a super faithful member.

Oh, and ELDER CAMPBELL AND I MOVED ON MONDAY!! Ahhh, our new house is so much better- its a lot smaller, but it's clean, the roof's not full of holes, the windows have glass, the bathroom works, there are no bats, and the doors lock!!! It's perfect! Still no fridge, but it's a work in progress. When (we hope it's when and not if) it comes, this place'll be great. It's exactly what we need. Thank you all for your prayers, emails and support. You'll never know how grateful I am for that! Love you all!

Until next week-
Elder Tadje
