Friends in High Places

Oi que dicen mis seres queridos?!

So we had changes- and mi hijo Elder Velez and I are here another change!!! Which is good becasue I just paid for another month of our gym membership. This really is an incredible area- the members are awesome, and we're seeing a ton of miracles!!!
We had a little boy named Anthony who was going to be baptized last week- well he randomly decided to go sightseeing with his aunt and uncle Sunday so he didn't come to church. But he should get baptized this Sunday, along with Monica Carillo! She was supposed to get baptized my first week here but her boyfriend hasn't been worthy until now. But everything is good and she's finally getting baptized! Also possibly a girl named Angie Cortez- she's 12 and got baptized when she was 8, but her records were lost so we might have to do it over again if we can't find them!! Bendita Guatemala!

We had 9 investigators in church Sunday and they're all pretty positive so we'll see what happens over the next few weeks!!! Then we've got a couple possibilities for the upcoming weeks that should come to church too! We really really are blessed, and especially in training there are so many miracles!

But this week's been awesome- we finally have gotten good enough friends with the bus drivers that they don't charge us when we ride anymore!! As soon as we get on, they turn the music down so we can preach to the bus and then fist bump us as we get off. Helps to have friends in high places. Also our gym is awesome- it's about a 5 minute walk from the house and I'm finally starting to lose weight from all these tortillas!!

The best part of the week by far was when QUENTIN L COOK CAME!!!!! We got together as missions South, Central, and East to listen to him and his wife, Elder Ochoa of the 70, and Elder Gong of the presidency of the 70!! It was absolutely incredible- he talked about how today there's an urgency in missionary work that hasn't been felt since Joseph Smith's time and the church's missionary efforts in England. Then he said how Central America is the promised land, and the Great and Spacious building isn't as strong here. He encouraged us to feel that urgency, and recognize where we are and the people that have been prepared for us here. I make that same invitation to everyone reading this email- to feel the urgency of the work, and remember that we are in a tierra bendita and there are people prepared for every one of us!! I love all of you and testify that this church is true and that there is nothing better than missionary work!!!

Para siempre Dios este con Vos
Elder Tadje
