Week 19- Chimeltenango

HEYYOOOOO- Welcome to week 19 where the tall blonde gringo is actually completely lost in Guatemala!!!!!

Haha, so Monday we had changes!!!! I got transferred to an area in the mountains called Chimeltenango, and my Comp is Elder Campbell from Arizona!!!! He's a gringo that was in the MTC with me. He just left his training too, so we're both senior comps. We're opening the area of Chimal 2-opening the area basically means they drop both of us in here from different areas, and we have no idea what to expect!!! Haha we still aren't completely sure where we live!!! We don't know anybody, where anything is, and there haven't been missionaries here for a year. Also, no one has lived in our house for a year.  It has two desks, two beds that we built and a bookshelf. But other than that, nothing!! Haha no fridge, no food, no Books of Mormon, no lesson pamphlets, no dishes, no anything!! It's been a fun few days trying to figure stuff out!!!! AND ITS COLD!!! It is so dang cold- the shower water is basically ice. I've never had to sleep with two pairs of sweats and two sweatshirts.

But through everything that's going on, no matter how lost we feel, the Lord's always been there. The only way we can communicate with him is through personal prayer. I think a lot of times we get rushed, and overlook the importance of our prayers to our Heavenly Father. But President Markham said that the purpose of personal prayer is to part the veil. Are we taking that seriously? Are we using that opportunity that we have to talk personally, one on one with our almighty God? I promise each one of you that if you can focus on making your prayers more meaningful and praying like the Lord is there in the room, you will be able to feel His love for you even stronger and your testimonies will increase more than you can imagine!!!

Love you all so much, thank you for all of the emails and the support!! That means more to me than you know!

Until next week! Elder Tadje
